Lahontan Golf Community & Club

With over one half of its 750 acres left as open space the Lahontan Community allows the natural landscape to be the dominant visual focus. Beginning with master planning and design guidelines, finishing with the Lodge Clubhouse, Faulkner Architects touched virtually every decision that makes up this beautiful place.

Our clients asked for an understated yet high quality approach to the creation of this natural and built place.

Beginning in the master planning phase, the access system of roads and paths were located to minimize grading and disturbance to this amazing property. Further strict design guidelines co-authored by Faulkner Architects reinforced the protection of the natural landscape and set a standard for architecture here.

Lodge Clubhouse: The focus of the project is composed of three buildings and aggressively dug into the site which belies its true size. A serious craftsman like approach to the architecture references park service and lodge architecture from the early 1900’s. An honest timber frame that utilizes reclaimed timber at the largest sizes organizes the vernacular form.
